Seminole Music & Gators Musicians from all over the country competed in July and August for prizes totaling more than $6,000.  The competition was proudly held at Gators Cafe and Saloon in Treasure Island, FL.  Seminole Music & Sound organized the contest with sponsorship from ESP Guitars, Ampeg Bass Amps, Mapex Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Dean Markley Strings and Evans Drum Heads.  The Kingpin Band hosted the activities, and Gators offered food and drink specials all night. All ages were welcome to come out and enjoy the contest.  The semi-finals for the competition were held on the following dates:     Monday, July 14th, 1997 Monday, July 21st, 1997 Monday, July 28th, 1997 Grand prizes were given away on the final evening of competition - Monday, August 4th, 1997.     Congratulations to our 1997 Bass War Grand Prize winner Adrian Zvarych ! Photo by Pierre Conzé (727) 980-7072 You can E-mail Adrian at HeZSheZ@aol.com  Bass Guitar War Prizes : 2nd Place  1 case of Dean Markley Blue Steel Bass Guitar Strings.   Valued at $200.     1st Place  Ampeg Diamond Blue 100 watt, bass combo amplifier.  Valued at $600.     Grand Prize ESP Horizon 5 string neck thru body bass guitar with EMG pickups, gun metal blue finish and hardshell case.  Valued at $2,400.  Drum War Prizes :                      2nd Place  Sabian 16" AAX Crash cymbal.  Valued at $200.  1st Place  Mapex 14" brass snare drum.  Valued at $900.     Grand Prize Mapex Mars series 7 piece drum kit finished in smoky chrome.  Valued at $1,900.     All contestants received prize bags with such things as: Dean Markley Strings, Evans Drum Heads, hats, duffle bags, towels and t-shirts.
